iTAMS IVR Example Application: VoiceBank
VoiceBank Overview:
VoiceBank provides clients with the ability to distribute frequently
updated voice messages to a large number of people on demand.
A typical application would be a travel information line where weather
may effect a ferry service, for example. The ferry operator would
update the information as required and simple publicise the Public access
number for the voicebank service.
An almost unlimited number of callers can then access the same
recording at any time without the ferry operator needing to answer a
single call.
This service is also used by some fire services and police forces, to
provide information for journalists about ongoing incidents - without
having to permanently man a press line.
As with all IVR systems, the design of the system is crucial to its ease
of use and overall success.
By adhering to Internationally recognised standards, such as using the
start key as "Cancel" and the Hash key to enter data, IVR systems
benefit from standardisation.
